Heartland Challenge 10 Hour ATV Race Report
::Continued::

Local boys, the Halfast Lightfoot team, rounded out the top three in the AA class with a total of 30 laps completed. “We weren’t really sure if we were going to run in the AA class or not and we figured you won’t get any faster unless you run with the fastest guys so we bit the bullet and did it. This was my fourth year racing the Heartland Challenge and this year was probably the best so far. We had a good start and were in second. We had an issue early on but nothing major; just little things here and there. We still had a blast,” said Hunter Van Patten.

The “Series Challenge” class saw some incredible competition. Can-Am’s Cody Miller and Hunter Miller made the trek up from Texas to participate in this year’s event and claimed the Series Challenge win for the TQRA Series with 36 laps, which also gave them second overall.

“This was an awesome event. The conditions were spot on. There was a bunch of great people here and that made it a really great event. We had an awesome race. I did try the Challenge section the first time out and ended up getting stuck three times, so I opted to go around after that. We just tried to keep it consistent because it did get a little rough at the end but we got the lead after about eight laps and just ran a good race and took the win,” said Cody Miller.

“We were pretty worn out after racing for four hours in the SxS class the night before, but it couldn’t have been any better for us. We didn’t try to set the fastest lap times out there; we just tried to stay consistent,” added Hunter Miller.
