Extreme Dirt Track ATV Racing
Round #6 - Links
Batavia, NY - The Extreme Dirt Track series and its racers would head to the great North East for round 6 of the 2012 season. Batavia Motor Speedway would be home for this round and would provide the racers and opportunity to try out a new track that the EDT Series had never been to before.

Racers were greeted with severe thunderstorms around the area on Friday, but the track only saw a light misting for the majority of the day. This would push back practice until around 7pm on Friday evening. The racers would hit the track for the first time and begin to lay down their lines and test this unique track.

The track would prove to be very solid for Saturday’s racing but would also provide a bit of a smash up from the Pro’s regular results. Honda East Toledo’s Harold Goodman would take the win in Pro while PEP’s Chuckie Creech would slide his way to the front of the Pro-Am class. Maxxis’ Brad Riley would once again find himself on top in the Pro-Am Unlimited class.

PRO ATV MAIN RACE REPORT

In the Pro main event, Houser Racing’s Harold Goodman would rip off the blue grooved line to put his #708 Honda 450R at the front of the pack and take the holeshot. He would also earn a little spending money as he took away the $100 Pro Holeshot award posted up by Eric Jennings of ESJ Graphics.

Harold Goodman - Honda TRX450R ATV

Hoosier's #708 Harold Goodman grabbed the Pro ATV holeshot followed by #338 Brian Ace on his Hellbound Racing Honda 450R

After the holeshot, Goodman would continue to lay down fast times and keep his nose clean the rest of the race. His speed and accuracy navigating the many jumps and elevation changes at the Batavia track would prove ideal for him as the other racers couldn’t hang on as Goodman held his lead for all 20 laps to take the win.

Hellbound Racing’s #338 Brian Ace would prove to everyone at Batavia that he has the endurance and skill to get on the podium as he came off the line directly behind Goodman and would hang on to claim the second spot on the Pro Podium.

Brian Ace - Honda TRX450R ATV

Roberts Racing's #338 Brian Ace was able to hold off the hard charging Maxxis' #27 Brad Riley to take the 2nd spot on the Podium

The Pennsylvania native would have his hands full as the North Carolina’s Chuckie Creech, Kirby Cooke and Brad Riley were on a hard charge of their own behind him. For Ace, he would keep his head up and rubber side down to complete the full feature and take home 2nd place. This would solidify Ace’s first podium visit of the year and he himself would gain much confidence heading into the final two round at Busco Beach, NC.
