Fall
River, MA (4/20/2010) – The New
England ATV Motocross Series (NEATVMX) has been
growing every season and has been a hot bed
for some very talented up and coming racers,
including Michael Pilotte, who took second in
the pro points chase and also second in the
pro-am ranks. Pilotte’s impressive results
last season included several wins and his speed
on the track helped him to land a factory deal
with KTM for the 2010 season.
Michael
Pilotte began racing the NEATVMX series in
2005 and made the leap to the pro class in
2007, finishing in seventh overall at the
end of the year. In 2008, Pilotte really stepped
up his game and claimed second overall in
pro points. 2009 was virtually a repeat for
Pilotte as he finished second once again behind
Joe Haavisto at the end of the year.
For
2010 Michael Pilotte is hungry for a championship
and with the support of KTM and DRT, he seems
poised to accomplish any goals he has set
for himself. We recently had the opportunity
to talk to Michael about his deal with KTM
and his outlook for the upcoming 2010 NEATVMX
series. Here’s what he had to say.
ATVRiders.com: Congratulations
on your new deal with KTM for the 2010 New
England ATV Motocross Series. You must be
pretty excited.
Michael
Pilotte:
Thanks! I am really excited.

ATVRiders.com:
So how did your deal with KTM come about?
Michael
Pilotte:
It was king of a joint thing with DRT. We
sent in a sort of group resume asking for
sponsorship for the shop and to support me
as a rider. They (KTM) were interested so
Chris Vogtman came out to watch me ride and
after that a deal was worked out and they
sent us some bikes.
ATVRiders.com:
How do you like the KTM so far?
Michael
Pilotte:
I love it!
ATVRiders.com:
You were on a fully built Honda last season,
how does the KTM compare with that?
Michael
Pilotte:
The KTM is better by far. It handles better
and it has really good power. My Honda last
year was fast, but with DASA building our
motors, I’m sure the KTM will be even
faster.

2009
was a great year for Pilotte, pulling
many holeshots, constantly being on
the podium, and always challenging the
other pros on the track |
ATVRiders.com:
Have you made any changes to the KTM so far?
Michael
Pilotte:
My practice bike is mostly stock except for
PEP suspension and a DASA pipe. The race bike
is going to have the motor built by DASA,
and Walsh Race Craft also made a +1 swingarm
for us that we will be testing.
