Doug Gust Interview: Pro ATV Motocross Racer >> Continued

You’ve made some changes to your track since the last time we visited you; can you tell us a little bit about those changes?
Doug Gust: I added a new section to make it a little more challenging and it’s bigger. I added a 100ft. jump to it and I’ve also added a sprinkler system to the track to help keep the dust down in the summer time.

Doug Gust's house is tucked away in the woods, and it is surrounded by his private motocross track. Doug's playground also has a airplane runway, rc car track, and a large lake with a water slide & beach house. Also, he has a huge garage to store all his toys aong with an airplane hanger

You also made some improvements to your property as well.
Doug Gust: I paved my runway last year and I have also added a couple of ponds and I built a lake house where I keep my snow machine and park the jet ski’s on the lower level. The upper level is a living area, kind of like a guesthouse, I guess you could say

In the summer months, doug spends plenty of time on his lake either jet sking or water sking, and he also has an awesome slip and slide hill that spills into the lake

You also purchased a new plane last year.
Doug Gust: Yes, my old plane was starting to cost me more money and I would have had to put a new motor in it at 2000 hours so I traded it in on a new one. Because of the tax break and some of the perks I got along with it, I actally saved money by ugetting it.

Doug Gust has spent over 20 years flying high on ATVs, but his new passion is flying airplanes, and like anything else Doug enjoys, he goes all out. He built his own private runway, and also has his own airplane hanger at the house, which allows doug the convience of flying nearly anywhere right from his home

How does it compare to your old plane?
Doug Gust: It’s so much better. It has a lot of upgrades and state of the art avionics. I’ve been flying it for almost a year now and I still haven’t learned all the options it has yet!
