Daytona Beach, FL (3/6/2015) -Yamaha’s Chad Wienen has been
unstoppable the past few years, and claimed
his third straight AMA ATV Motocross Pro Championship
in 2014. Wienen like many racers who live in
the northern states migrate to Florida during
the winter to start training and dialing in
his quad for the next season. We caught up with
Chad Wienen in Florida and got a chance to talk
to him about the upcoming 2015 ATV motocross
season, his new team line up, and his views
on the Daytona ATV Supercross.
ATVriders.com: Chad, you have a new team for 2015. How is you program for this year?
Chad
Wienen: Our program is good. It’s pretty much the same since 2012; we’ve just made a few changes throughout the years. This year we didn’t change anything except for adding two guys to the team.
ATVriders.com:
So who is on your team for the 2015 AMA ATV
Motocross Championship season?
Chad
Wienen: Thomas Brown is doing his own thing program this year, so Brett Musick is going to be our second Pro rider. He is coming off of injury from last year. It kind of reminds me of myself when I was dealing with my back injury. He is working really hard, and I like to see that. We also have Cole Sepisi who will be racing in Pro-am and Open A. He is coming straight out of the youth ranks, so it’s a big jump for him. We are really excited about the team, it is fresh and we have some really hungry riders. We have a great machine for them with the Yamaha and we are expecting big things this year.

Chad Wienen will be once again racing
on a Wienen Motorsports Yamaha YFZ450R |
ATVriders.com: This year the AMA ATV Motocross Championship has added a round in Daytona. What are your views on this round?
Chad
Wienen: Daytona Supercross is going to be a great event. I am really looking forward to it. I really like that type of racing and it will be a learning curve for sure. We are really excited about the opportunity and since I am down in the Daytona area four months out of the year, it’s almost like a home race for me. We visited there a couple of weeks ago and it is very impressive. It’s going to be an honor to race there and I am going to do everything I can to be on victory lane.

Chad Wienen has kept many of his same sponsors for 2015 including FOX, Hinson, SSi Decals, Maxxis, FMF, Walsh Racecraft & many more |
ATVriders.com: This is your second year training down here with Chris Borich. How has that been working out?
Chad
Wienen: Training with Chris is awesome. We share the same drive and we feed off each other and learn things every single day. Johnny Gallagher is also down here and he is a veteran of the sport and has taught us a lot as well and he is a good motivator. It’s a tight knit family down here.

Chad Wienen has been training down in Florida over the winter months with 6x GNCC Racing Pro ATV Champion Chris Borich |
ATVriders.com: What do you think about Chris Borich making the switch to Yamaha this year?
Chad
Wienen: It’s very cool. He’s seen the success we have had on the motocross side of things and when we went to Crawfordsville, he was able to see what the Yamaha can do on the GNCC side as well. He feels he can go out there and do just as well on the Yamaha if not better. Just getting it dialed in for him is the biggest part, but I think he will get there. It’s real exciting and happy for him.

Chad Wienen has been practicing at several motocross track in Florida including PAX |
ATVriders.com: Rumor has it that you bought a piece of land down here in Florida to build your own motocross practice track. Is that true?
Chad
Wienen: Yes. I purchased it this fall and have been working on it trying to get everything ready. It’s taken a little longer than I anticipated, but we are hoping to get out on it before the first round of racing. Just being down here in Florida, you have to have your own place so you can come out and ride on your own schedule and practice as much as you want.

Chad Wienen recently purchased some land in Florida & is working on building up a motocross track so he can train at his own track Florida |
ATVriders.com: You now have three straight Pro ATV Motocross Championships and are going for your fourth this year. What are your thoughts on the competition for 2015?
Chad
Wienen: The competition is going to be stiff. They all want to be where I am and I don’t want them to get there. I have to keep elevating my program. We have been working hard and I am really excited about the season.
