Chad Wienen Pro ATV Motocross Championship
Interview
::Continued::
ATVriders: This year has been a mud fest and you’re generally not a mud racer. How is it to come out on top after such rough conditions?
|
|
Although Chad Wienen is not a big mud race fan, over half of the races this year have been muddy do to wet weather conditions |
Chad
Wienen: In past years, I have had some of my worst motos and worst times in the mud. I am really not a mud rider, but I strongly believe that it was all up to my Yamaha. I have been learning so much and bettering myself and it really paid off; especially this year with all the bad conditions.

Chad Wienen has proven he is very comfortable on his Yamaha YFZ450R ATV |
ATVriders: It looks like you finally found your match with the Yamaha YFZ450, are we right?
Chad
Wienen: Yeah! It took me a long time to finally find it. We finally have a machine that can hold up to me. We’ve learned a lot about it over the years and the YFZ fits me great. Plus, blue is my favorite color! I am really thankful that Yamaha gave me the opportunity to come here and to win championships with them is amazing. I wouldn’t want to do it with anyone else.

Thomas Brown has been training hard with Chad Wienen all season & his hard work has paid off. Thomas Brown currently holds down second in the Pro ATV Motocross Points |
ATVriders: Your teammate, Thomas Brown, had a great year with you. He’s right behind you in points and you two have been battling all season, how is that for you?
Chad
Wienen: He is so consistent. He has matured a lot this season. It takes a while to move from his old program to ours; we really have a lifestyle and he has progressed so much. He’s going to be a contender next year. He’s a great kid; I’ve always liked him and enjoy riding with him. I am just hoping we can go 1-2 in the championship and give Yamaha an even better year!

|
Thomas Brown has been consistent all season by finishing all but one race on of the podium on his Yamaha YFZ450R ATV |
ATVriders: At Loretta Lynn’s are you going to take it easy or go for a win there?
Chad
Wienen:I am going to keep rolling! The weight is off my shoulders; I am going to enjoy this moment, but ready myself for Loretta’s and all the tough conditions that come with it.

Although Chad
Wienen has already wrapped up the championship,
he will be at the final round of the
Pro ATV Motocross Series at famous Loretta
Lynn's as he attempts to break the tie
with Doug Gust for the season win record

ATVriders: Any last thoughts on your back to back championships?
Chad
Wienen: Back to back championships are amazing; it was a dream just to get one. It’s been a lot of hard work and dedication. I have a strong love for the sport and I am really happy to be able to do it again.
