The Yamaha Viking VI provides 8.1” of suspension travel in both the front and rear. It may seem a little stiff with only one or two people aboard, but it is built to handle a full capacity load of six passengers and 600 pounds of bed cargo capacity and works well under those conditions.

Yamaha's 686cc 4-stroke, liquid cooled, single overhead cam engine is the power plant for the 2015 Yamaha Viking VI. It has received an updated intake system, which now has to travel farther up the chassis before reaching the throttle body.

The air filter size has been increased and fuel injection mapping has been adjusted specifically for the Viking VI. The liquid cooling system was also increased to keep the temperature down during the toughest working conditions.
The Viking VI engine is positioned under the vehicle’s rear cargo bed, allowing easy access for simple maintenance. Its large capacity air intake system is also easy to access and maintain incorporating a reusable, large-capacity foam air filter positioned under the middle rear seat. It is easily accessible from the cabin without tools to clean or change even out in the field.

Yamaha’s Ultramatic transmission also has been updated to handle the added weight and cargo capacity of the Viking VI. To get the power to the ground, drivers have the option of 2WD, 4WD, and 4WD fully locked front differential to help in more difficult terrain along with high, low, and reverse drive modes. The dash console provides simple engagement of the drive systems.
