A 695cc liquid-cooled four stroke, fuel injected engine is centrally located between the seats |
For 2014, KYMCO expanded the UXV lineup with the addition of a larger 695cc liquid-cooled four stroke, fuel injected engine that puts out about 45 horsepower in the KYMCO UXV 700i models, which is 9 more horsepower than the KYMCO UXV 500 model at 36hp, and the new engine is also lighter than the UXV 500 engine. With the increased power of the UXV 700i, it has a top speed over around 55mph, which is around 10mph faster than the UXV 500i.

The 2014 KYMCO UXV 700i is capable of reaching 55mph but the machine really shines in its low end torque which works very well in rough terrain |
While the KYMCO UXV 700i has a higher top speed, what really stands out about it is its low end torque, which makes it right at home over rough terrain, which we had a chance to thoroughly test on the rugged trails around the Gateway Resort. The KYMCO UXV 700i climbed over with ease, and it works great in the slick rocks of Utah, which is added by its transmission design.

The
KYMCO UXV 700's wet clutch worked great
at climbing the rough terrain |
The continuously variable transmission (CVT) with high, low, neutral, reverse, and park is found on all the UXV models. What makes the KYMCO CVT work so well at climbing over obstacles and hills is the belt remains under constant tension and has a wet clutch, so it isn’t as easy to burn up a belt on the KYMCO UXV models, which makes it right at home in the hills.
