The instrumentation on the 2012 Brute is easy
to read, especially the low fuel warning which
caught my eye as it preformed flawlessly. Now
I wasn't worried about staying lost, but running
out of fuel is never fun. I figured I had better
lay off the throttle a bit as we were hammering
along pretty good. The Brute Force is and always
has been a blast to ride due to the arm pulling
power it offers. Clipping along and encountering
a rocky section just meant pouring on the power
which sends the front end up and in no time you
are across them smooth as butter.
I never did ask if they had made a change to
the clutch but it sure seemed to be just about
right with great power from the bottom clean
to the top and never stops pulling. Mile after
mile, I was having fun just riding and that
power steering sure saved my aging shoulders
big time!

The addition of the power steering made me have
a complete change of heart on this model. For
the regular weekend warrior, this should really
place this model right with anything on the market
in its class. I hadn't been on a utility model
in quite some time and after a day of riding expected
to be beat up but surely wasn't. It worked extremely
well!
Three hours late, we rolled back into the Kawasaki
rig no worse for wear. I took all the blame for
being lost so Cody wouldn't feel bad on his first
outing just for the record. Everyone figured we
had just blown the group off for the day but in
a lot of ways, I think we had our own Anthracite
Adventure even if it was completely by accident.
We sat back and watched everyone do their video
recording as they debriefed their riders and
chatted about the days riding. They all looked
like they had been working on a chain gang in
the coal but plenty of smiles and happy stories
continued throughout dinner. The gang at Kawasaki
always goes out of their way to gives us a great
facility and this one, while not even nearly
complete ranks way up there in our eyes.

Overall,
we had a great time riding at The Anthracite
Outdoor Adventure Area & the newly
updated Kawasaki Brute Force 750 4x4i
EPS provided for an enjoyable riding experience |
They knew the review of their 2012 Brute would
take a hit as everyone seemed to talk non stop
of the area and how well it will work as a riding
Mecca. There weren't any huge changes beyond the
power steering to this model so there isn't a
ton new to share on the tech side other then its
still powerful, handles well, is comfortable and
the new power steering makes it effortless to
operate! Now maybe a GPS would make it better,
at least it would have gotten us to lunch on time!
The big boss called on our way home and asked
about our trip. We just told him they gave us
bad directions and warm water, he can read about
it like everyone else! Thank you Kawasaki and
the fine people of Anthracite for a memorable
trip. We sure hope the final plans and red tape
can be worked out and you guys can get to work
on turning that facility into something even
more entertaining then it already is!
