That night we returned to camp where we had a Corn Hole Board tournament. Dave from Fullerton Sand Sports took the top prize followed by our own Harlen Foley and John Pellan in third.

The next morning we met up with Brian and Melissa Fisher and made the long trek out to the China Wall. Having been 10 years since I had seen it I wasn’t going to leave without having a chance to climb it in the Can-Am Maverick. China Wall is almost unimaginable. The last time I was there my 450 ATV barely made it to the top, so you can see why I was excited to see what a SxS would do.

I figured it would be the ultimate test. We carved our way all the way out to China Wall on what I would consider to be one of the most fun rides ever in the sand dunes. We just carved back and forth and our transitions we flawless making the ride out epic.

After what felt like hours we finally topped China Wall and began our descent down the face not knowing if we would be able to make it back up or have to find a way around it. All weekend we heard of stories about other UTVs that just wouldn’t make it up this hill. We stopped at the bottom and discussed our plan of action should be not make it to the top, and we decided to just go for it. Harlen and I got a big run at it. We hit the bottom a 50+ mph and made it to the top so fast we had to let off so we wouldn’t jump down the back side!
Wow! We couldn’t believe it!I was then given the opportunity to drive Brian to the top and film it for the show so he and I blasted up the hill with out any issues. We then had to make our way back to camp because we were so far out. Much to our surprise it took us nearly a full tank of gas to get out there and back.

We ended up having a great time testing the new Can-Am Maverick Turbo 1000 out in Glamis. The machined performed very well and it’s great that Can-Am raised the bar so high for the competition. This machine won’t disappoint. The power is very impressive and the suspension works very well and has the ability to be tuned to a variety of terrain. I hope I get the chance to drive one in the woods sometime or maybe even on a track. Thanks to Can-Am for having us out to test drive the unit, and to Brian Fisher for having us on his show.
