2011 Arctic Cat 350 4x4 Utility ATV Ride Review - Continued

2011 Arctic Cat 350 Utility ATV
The 2011 Arctic Cat 350 was surely fine to ride & with a class leading 10" of ground clearance it went nearly everywhere without getting stuck easily
The Arctic Cat 350 has full time all wheel drive, a Duramatic automatic transmission with dynamic engine braking, and is the only machine in its class to utilize hydraulic, self cleaning front and rear disc brakes. The independent rear suspension adds to the machine's handling capabilities and makes for a comfortable ride. The Arctic Cat 350 features good ergonomics and controllable power for beginner level riders.

The Arctic Cat 350 has very good stopping power. In fact, when applying the hydraulic hand brake hard you almost feel as if you are going to go over the handlebars if you are not careful. When pulling in the hand brake, braking is applied to all four wheels of the ATV making it very easy to stop. Overall, we thought that the Arctic Cat 350 is good for a base model and is well suited for a beginner rider.

The Arctic Cat 350 offers a single hand brake lever, which controls front & rear brakes & it has a standard thumb throttle without a 2wd/4wd switch as found on the 425 & XC450i

The second quad we threw a leg over, and the model we were most impressed with, was the new Arctic Cat 425. At only $500.00 more that the 350 model, we felt that this machine definitely gives the consumer more bang for their buck as it includes many additional features that are not present in the 350 model. The Arctic Cat 425 includes the American made Arctic Cat H1 motor that offers lots of power. While the 350 base model offers an air cooled engine, the 425 is liquid cooled with a single overhead cam and EFI, with a displacement of 443cc, making it a blast to drive out on the trails.

Unlike the all the time, all wheel drive of the 350 model, the Arctic Cat 425 has switchable two and four wheel drive. The 425 is very agile out on the trails and with independent rear suspension, seven inches of travel, and ten inches of ground clearance, it instills confidence, and allows the rider to get over just about any obstacle they may encounter.

The Arctic Cat 425 features a handle bar mounted brake lever that works on all four wheels and an independent rear foot brake as well. The brakes on the 425 work very well. We were also impressed with the low and high range Duramatic automatic transmission that includes dynamic engine braking. Additionally, a reverse override in this model makes it easy to get out of sticky situations out on the trail.
