“I’ve been waiting to do this all year long,”
said Webster. “I’ve been putting in the work during
the week and it’s paying off. Sloan and I had
an intense battle. He’s a good friend, so I’m
glad it was with him. I train in sand, so I’m
used to it. I like the sand and the roughness.”

PEP's
Collins Webster was able to hold off Mike
Sloan in the final stretch to secure the
2nd spot on the podium |
STI’s Mike Sloan managed to keep up and battle
with Webster despite a flat tire on his Honda
in the final laps of the race, but he wasn’t able
to make the pass on Webster in the end, but claimed
his fourth straight third place finish on the
podium.

STI / Duncan Racing's Mike Sloan
battled back & forth in the final four
laps of the race with Sloan finishing in
third |
“I rode the last half of the race with a flat,”
said Sloan. “I was battling the flat and was still
staying with Collins. I had a line picked out
where I was going to set him up, but the flat
caused my suspension to swap out. I feel good
about my performance today.”
LMR Racing’s Robbie Mitchell was battling with
Garrin Fuller for second when Fuller crashed hard
off of one of the dunes in the seventh lap. In
a true show of sportsmanship, Mitchell stopped
to help his fallen comrade. He rebounded to finish
fourth. Fuller wasn’t seriously injured, but the
wreck ended his race day.

Racing's Robbie Mitchell lost 3 minutes
waiting with Fuller in the 7th lap, but
he still was able to secure a 4th place
finish |
“I was starting to gain on him when his tire
fell off the end of one of the dunes and he just
cart wheeled,” said Mitchell. “I stopped to help
him because he was just laying there. I’d want
someone to stop for me, so I couldn’t just leave
him there. It was tough to do, because I was second
when he dropped out, but it’s more important to
make sure someone is safe than to finish second.”
ELKA’s Matthew Hancock recorded his best ever
WORCS Pro ATV finish in fifth. He regretted running
too slow a pace at the start of the event, but
it topped off a great weekend for the Pro rookie
who also scored his first Pro SxS podium finish
on Saturday.

Pro Motorsports' Matthew Hancock
secured his first Top Five finish in the
pro class at Sand Hollow |
“I’ve been training a lot lately and I’m in better
shape so I should have picked it up a little more
at the start,” said Hancock. “I felt a lot faster
than I have all year. I’m excited about the top
five, but I’m more excited about having a smooth
race and feeling good.”
