The event is the only one on the circuit that
features tight woods trails, along with technical
motocross and endurocross section. Racers are
usually accustomed to cooler, damp conditions
here, but instead they were greeted to record
high temps in the 90's and extremely dry conditions.

Ryan Piplic nudged past Beau Baron in the first turn to grab the holeshot and then held him off for the flag-to-flag victory. “It was extremely important to get the holeshot at this race,” said Piplic of his race strategy. “It was very dusty and it’s hard to pass here. Beau and I played cat and mouse in the dust, in the off-road section and the lapped traffic. There was so much lapped traffic that it was almost impossible to gain any ground.”

Ryan Piplic padded his championship lead with the victory, his first this season since winning Round 5 in Utah. “To get a second championship would be tremendously exciting,” said Piplic. “I was born and raised here, and I’ve ridden these tracks all of my life. I’ve never seen it this dry. It’s usually muddy, wet and tight. This was pretty extreme.”

For
Ryan Piplic, it was his second win of the
season, which extended his points lead heading
into the WORCS X event that evening |
