Jeffrey Rastrelli was riding well in the first
moto of the Open Expert class. After passing
Brad Riley, he began to pressure leader, Thomas
Brown. After several laps, Rastrelli was finally
able to slip by and claim the lead. Rastrelli
held off Brown for the moto one win. “I think
I started out around fourth and made a few passes.
I caught up to Thomas and made a pass. I pulled
a little gap but he caught back up. It was a
really good battle. It was a really god confidence
booster for coming into next year,” said Rastrelli.

Jeffrey Rastrelli recorded the fastest
laptime of the weekend on Sunday when
he passed Thomas Brown for the Moto One
win |
For moto two, the track became quite packed
down and a bit slick. Unfortunately for Jeffrey
Rastrelli, it appeared he may have picked the
wrong tire combination for the conditions as
he didn’t seem to be getting the traction he
needed, which would cost him a moto two win
and put him in second place both for the moto
and the overall. “The track was really awesome
this weekend. We were sliding a little in the
second moto. The track got a little drier than
I thought and we just weren’t ready for it,
but it was a good race and we had a lot of fun
out there,” Rastrelli said.

Can-Am mounted, Cody Miller in second off the
start but fell back to third place in the first
moto and held it all the way to the finish line.
Moto two went much the same for Miller as he
put himself in the number three spot and held
it all the way to the checkered flag for the
final spot on the Open Expert podium.

“Our motos went pretty well for today. I was
second off the start in moto one, but Rastrelli
got by me and I just stayed in third. It was
pretty much the same for me in the second moto.
This was my last race in motocross, so I just
wanted to stay consistent and end it on all
four tires and the championship. I was also
a little beat up from yesterday’s three moto
format but this was a great way for me to end
things by going out there and racing against
all the top guys that I have raced with for
so long. It’s kind of crazy saying it’s my last
race after doing it for 20 years,” said Miller.
Ohio racer, Tyler Hamrick went 4-4 in the Open
Expert class for fourth overall and Hunter Miller’s
5-5 finishes had him rounding out the top five.
