TORC's Red Bud
Rumble Round 10 UTV Race Report
::Continued::
Chaney made several runs on Greaves, but wasn’t
able to make a move stick. One of those moves
nearly ended in disaster for the points leader.

Maxxis' Kyle
Chaney missed his suspension setup, which
had him struggling to keep up with CJ
Greaves
|
“Our suspension was way off today,” said Chaney.
“I was really beating on the car today, but luckily
I’m in a Can-Am and it can take it. “I gave CJ
a run because my car worked on half of the track.
On the other part of the track, it wasn’t working
and I knew if I pushed it that something was going
to happen. I tried, but I ended up busting the
floorboard out. It got stuck behind the brake
pedal so when I went through this left hander
I had no brakes. I had to use both feet to push
the floorboard back down. We need to do some testing
and figure out the suspension. We have speed and
the car is good, we just need some fine tuning.”

Can-am's
Kyle Chaney secured the second spot ahead
of Rodney VanEperen to make up some points
he lost on Saturday in the TORC points
championship
|
VanEperen pulled to the start line before the
race and his power steering promptly quit. He
muscled his Yamaha through the course and held
off Farr to score the final spot on the podium
and stay in championship contention.

Yamaha's
Rodney VanEperen battled power steering
to secure the final spot on the podium
|
“We had a little problem at the start, but the
rest of this Yamaha is bullet proof and pulled
us through,” said VanEperen. “Honestly, I was
blocking Tim Farr. We didn’t have power steering
and I couldn’t even hold onto the steering wheel.
I apologize to him. We were trying to salvage
points in this race and we’ll take third all day
long in this situation. We just need to keep staying
on the box. Kyle is just Mr. Consistency and I
can’t take anything away from him. He has a great
program, but we’ll keep chugging away and see
what we can do.”

JB Racing's
Tim Farr finished in the 4th spot
|
Zakowski recovered from a hard crash in Saturday’s
race to finish fifth on Sunday. He was making
a charge to fourth when his shifter broke and
he had to run the final lap in third gear.

Kenda's Zac
Zakowski rounded out the top five on Sunday
at Red Bud
|
“I made a run on Tim Farr and broke my shifter,
so I was stuck in third the whole last lap,” said
Zakowski. “We went into that tight left, downshifted,
stabbed the throttle and there was just nothing
there. I would have had Tim if it didn’t break.
Considering the day we had yesterday—we got hit
in a pileup and we weren’t sure we’d be able to
race today because the cage was so bent up—we’ll
take that.”
