2013 Terracross Racing Round #2 & 3 - Haydays September 7-8, 2013 Sunrise, MN

Along with the quad and SxS action was the Caleb Moore Speeding with Style event. Colten Moore was able to make it out this weekend to participate and had a surprise waiting for him and his family. In honor of his brother Caleb Moore, a tree was planted in his memory with a plaque at the base of it.

“I think it’s awesome, they kept it a surprise and I didn’t know about it. When I got here they finally told us about it. I went and looked at it and it’s pretty awesome they did that for him,” said Colten after the dedication.

During freestyle practice Moore, alongside Marco Picaddo pulled off a few backflip crowd pleasers. Also joining the mix was Derek Guetter, who was saving the craziness for his role in the movie “Butter”.

Unfortunately for the freestyle portion of the event, the weather didn’t cooperate, as rain would wet down the surface of the ramp making it to dangerous to attempt.  So to still put on a show, riders raced a two heat run. Whoever claimed the top positions overall, would take the win for the weekend.

JR Hinds, who also races the Pro-Am class at the AMA Motocross Nationals had a huge advantage over the rest of the freestyle racers that rarely or never race motocross, and it showed after a few laps of racing he was able to run away with the wins in both motos for the overall win.

“Running nationals and Pro Am this year definitely helped a lot. I put in a lot of hours and it paid off,” said Hinds on his overall win.

Derek Guetter would grab round number 3 Holeshot aboard his Can-Am DS450 ATV. Hinds would eventually take over the lead with Guetter in tow. Guetter would finish second followed by Marco Picaddo rounding out the podium. In Round 4 it would again be JR Hinds that took the overall win with Marco Picaddo and Colten Moore placing second and third respectively.
