Sara Price started dead last in the first race
and drove through the field to net the victory.
Interestingly, her co-driver for the weekend was
Danielle Weatherly, who totaled her own RZR in
practice and was unable to compete.

Championsip round 3 win

“The track was tacky so there were ruts and bumps,
and you have to really finesse the car in the
corners to avoid tipping over,” said Price. “I
love TerraCross. It’s cool that we’re in spec
vehicles; it’s equal on all sides. We’re just
trying to go out there and have fun. I started
last and stayed back for awhile. I picked off
people where I could, and I’m excited the way
it worked out.”

Weatherly & Sara Price after taking
the Round 3 Win

Weatherly gained some important experience, riding
with Price during the weekend’s events. “I co-drove
for Sarah so I still got to be part of the race,”
explained Weatherly. “I had a lot of respect for
her before this now I respect her even more. She’s
just so calm and smooth, and I learned a lot from
her.”
Shelby Anderson was battling for the victory
in the first race. She earned the holeshot at
the start, but a roll over late in the event placed
her second at the finish.

Championship & she went on to claim
a 2nd place finish

“It’s just awesome come out and battling with
all the girls,” said Anderson. “The series is
growing bigger and bigger and more females are
getting into it. I was bummed out when I rolled
over, lost the lead and missed a win, but I’m
happy with another TerraCross podium.”
Vernola’s plan going into the first race changed
as soon as the green flag waved. She finished
third. “I definitely earned it today,” said Vernola.
“I lost my power steering on the first lap. I
had a little bit of luck and had to work hard.
We go into every race with a plan, but when the
green flag drops, sometimes that goes out the
window. You have to play it smart, keep the car
together and also keep the pace, which is a difficult
thing to do.”
