San Diego, CA (7/4/2015) – IMG
Motorsport’s Sarah Price dominated the Terracross
Championship season opener doubleheader by claiming
the Women’s class win both rounds at the Del Mar
Fairgrounds in California. One Source Supply Solution’s
Shelby Anderson finished in the second spot both
rounds, and Super ATV’s Danielle Weatherly and K&N’s
Katie Vernola swapped the final podium spot each
round.

The Del Mar Terracross Championship track was
exactly the same for the Women as it was for the
Pro RZR racers with its big double jump in the
center of a horse arena, a slick concrete section,
as well as the “Mystik Mangler” section that consisted
of half-buried tractor tires. The only difference
was the Women racers were required to have a co-driver/passenger
in the RZR during the race.
Toyota Escondido’s Sara Price dominated both
rounds by grabbing the holeshot in both classes,
and she won by six seconds in the first race and
14 seconds in the second round of the doubleheader.

doubleheader

Price put her extensive experience in WORCS,
Lucas Oil, and motocross competition to work by
leading every lap to win both races. Interestingly,
Price was sharing the Polaris RZR with her boyfriend
James Hill, who was her co-driver and also racing
in the Pro RZR class.

“This is super exciting,” said Price. “There
are some fast girls out here, and the competition
was tough. The goal for me was to run a really
clean race and stay calm and collected. It was
really stressful sharing a car with James. He
finished the LCQ and they had to change an entire
A-arm prior to my first race. We then had to change
two axles after I ran. This car was definitely
run to its full potential on a tough track.”

guiding her through the technical Terracross Championship
race course.
