St. Joe, TX (11/7/2013) - Cross
Kirchmeier won the first SxS Showdown Pro race
at Rednecks with Paychecks (RWP) in St. Joe,
TX. Brian Reiter claimed second place aboard
his Hess Motorsports powered RZR and Ashley
Tierce took third. Joe Hines claimed the win
in the Pro Am class.
Despite the rain in St. Joe, TX, tens of
thousands of spectators attended Rednecks
with Paychecks Halloween Event. Although this
is only the fifth RWP, which is held twice
a year in the Spring and Fall. While the event
is only just over two years old, it has gained
a huge following, and for 2013 they added
SxS racing, but there is plenty of other racing
action as well from mud drags to downhill
power wheels racing, and many other activities,
so there is something for everyone.
The First Annual SXS Showdown was put on
by Hess Motorsports and had a guaranteed purse
of $5000.00 split between the Pro and Pro
Am class. A large amount of spectators came
to see racers attempt to navigate through
tires, hill climbs, switchbacks, and the other
technical areas that made this track very
fun to race and watch, and it was open for
anyone in attendance to qualify for the race.

Cross Kirchmeier claimed the win aboard his
Polaris RZR 800S in the Pro class this weekend.
Kirchmeier got off to a bad start after his
machine bogged, putting him towards the back.
He worked his way up through the field to
third place just behind Brian Reiter who was
challenging Shawn Hess for first place. Kirchmeier
made the pass on Reither, and he took over
the lead after Hess suffered a broken ball
joint, and he held on to claim the win and

“If it wasn’t for the Elka suspension,
there is no way that car would have handled
that good. I could throw it into the corners
as hard as I wanted and it was awesome. I
couldn’t imagine doing it on any other
shock,” said Kirchmeier after the win.
