Glen Helen - Round 8

San Bernardino, CA (11/11/2013) - The Yamaha Quad X Motocross Season finale was held Saturday November 9. The points were close and David Haagsma knew a win would secure his second consecutive Quad X Championship. He was able to take that win in style and go 1-1 at the round. Beau Baron followed him with second place in the Pro class and Dustin Nelson rounded out the Pro podium.

H&M Motorsports’ David Haagsma put down a scorecard of 1-1 to take both the wins and the Quad X Pro championship. Haagsma grabbed the holeshot in Moto one and quickly began putting space between him and the rest of the pack.

“My Maxxis Tires hooked up, and my Curtis Sparks engine took me to the front. I had a great lead going into the first corner and from there on I was just riding my own race. I kept my speed up and kept my eye on the guys behind me,” regarded Haagsma of the first moto. He remained in the lead for all ten laps and took the checkers by 11.329 seconds over second place .

Moto two went very similar for Haagsma. He again rocketed off the line and moved into the early lead. He continued in the lead and rode unchallenged to the checkers for the win.  His win sealed the deal for his second consecutive Yamaha Quad X Pro ATV Motocross Championship.

“It feels great to get the 1-1 at the finale. Everything went smooth with two holeshots and two wins. It’s great to get the championship again. I couldn’t be happier. We’ve had a great season and I can’t thank my sponsors enough,” said Haagsma about his championship.

Beau Baron had a great race and finished the year with a 2-2 score card at Glen Helen. Baron was in third off the start of moto one. He quickly got into a battle with Yamaha’s Dustin Nelson. The two went bumper to bumper for nearly the entire race. Baron was able to make a last lap pass on Nelson in the final turn of the race and take over the second spot.
