Yamaha / Quad-X Racing - Round 4 – Comp Edge ATV Race Report
::Continued::

Dustin Nelson - Yamaha YFZ450R ATV
#94 Dustin Nelson sits second in the Quad-X Pro ATV Points Championship

In moto two Nelson did not get the start he was looking for and was next to last as the group rounded the first turns. He worked quickly and was in third midway through the second lap. He was unable to make up ground on the leaders, but rode relatively unchallenged in third until the checkers. Nelson’s 2-3 finishes earned him second overall and his is currently ranked second in the Quad X Pro Points.

The #549 of Beau Baron started out the round by falling in place behind his teammate in the second position of moto one. Baron continued in the second spot for much of the moto until the extreme temperatures began to take a toll on his Honda. Baron dropped from second to seventh when his gas began to boil.

Beau Baron - Honda 450R ATV
David Haagsma - Honda 450R ATV
Maxxis / H&M Motorsports' #549 Beau Baron placed 7-1 earning him the final spot on the Quad-X Pro Podium. Baron also faced mechanical issues due to the grueling heat!

The second moto went much better. Baron made a few adjustments to his race machine and went out to prove that both he and his Honda could take the heat. Baron grabbed the holeshot and early lead and then he Haagsma began to pull away from the pack. Baron continued to push to the limits and took an exciting moto win over Haagsma and Nelson. Baron’s 7-1 finishes were good enough to earn him third for the round. Baron currently holds third in the pro point’s chase.

Tanner Gemperle - Yamaha YFZ450R ATV
#93 Tanner Gemperle went 4-4 at Comp Edge to earn fourth overall on his Yamaha YFZ450R ATV

Tanner Gemperle, #93, raced his Yamaha to 4-4 finishes to earn fourth at the round. Gemperle had a solid start in moto one and quickly moved into third and then the second spot. He battled with Nelson and Baron before settling into fourth.  In the second moto, Gemperle bumped with Nelson as the duo came off the gate. The rubbing between the pair caused both racers to lose momentum and end up neat the rear of the pack. Gemperle rallied and worked his way into fourth.  Gemperle’s consistency this season has paid off and he is currently ranked fourth in the Quad X Pro Points.
