On lap six, Haagsma dropped to third because he was having difficulty seeing without goggles. He remained there until the finish. Haagsma currently holds the point lead in the class with a two point lead over Nelson.

“It feels great to have the points lead going into round three. I really like the next few tracks and feel like I will do well,” said Haagsma.

H&M Motorsport’s Beau Baron scored 3-2 at the round. Baron got a good start right behind his teammate in moto one. As the pack came out of the second turn Baron found himself in third position. Baron continued steady pressure on Nelson, who was in second, but due to the narrowness of the track wasn’t able to get around him. Despite being in third position, Baron clocked the fastest lap of the day, an impressive 02:11.372 on lap four. He crossed the finish just 02:993 behind the leaders.

The second moto started out just like the first for Baron. He was in third, pushing behind Nelson and Haagsma for the first half of the race. On lap six, Haagsma made a mistake and Baron capitalized and took over the second position. He then continued to charge and turned the fastest lap of the moto, a 02:11.583 on lap eight. Baron crossed the finish in second just 02:14.687 off the pace of Nelson. Beau Baron currently holds third in the series points standings.

Josh Row earned 4-4 for the round on his #417 Yamaha. In moto one he got off to a good start and was in fifth. Row got into a battle with Tanner Gemperle and the two Yamaha racers remained in a wheel-to-wheel battle until lap seven when Row was able to make the pass stick. Row continued in fourth position until the checkers.

Josh Row got rear pack start in moto two and began to battle with Tanner Gemperle and Dylan Dixon.  The three way battle remained tight until lap four when Dixon made a mistake and both Row and Gemperle got by him. Row continued in the fourth spot until the checkers. Row’s finish has left him tied with Gemprele for fifth position in the series points chase.

The #93, Tanner Gemprele earned his best finish of the season by rounding out the top five. Gemprele battled with Row for much of the first moto. In moto two he got into a three way race with Row and Dylan Dixon. Gemprele scored 5-5 for at Yamaha QuadX Round 2.

Can-Am’s Collins Webster took sixth for the day by finishing 8-7. He was followed by Evan Spooner and Dylan Dixon. Tony Baxter finished in ninth and Garrin Fuller rounded out the top ten for the day.

Yamaha Quad-X Racing action will continue in just a few weeks and there is no doubt that competition will be fierce with only two points separating David Haagsma and Dustin Nelson and Beau Baron vying for his first win of the season. Round three will take place May 5th at The Ranch in Anza, California.
