Maxxis' #422 David Haagsma once again scored
the 2nd spot in Moto 2 for a career best
2nd overall finish |
Haagsma again had his work cut out for him in moto
two as he once again came off the line in second
with Baron hot on his heels. Despite the intense
pressure from Baron, Haagsma was able to maintain
his position and finish in second once again, putting
him in second overall on the pro podium, his best
finish of the season. Despite missing the first
two rounds of the season, Haagsma was able to finish
fourth in points for the season.
MCR/Maxxis Tire’s Beau Baron, who was Dustin
Nelson’s main competitor all season long,
was having a tough time for the final round as
he was not on his normal race quad and it showed.
Baron was in third off the line in the first moto
and battled with David Haagsma for the entire
moto, but was unable to get by and settled in
for a third place finish.
For the second moto, Baron was again in third
off the start and challenged Haagsma. Baron, however,
was not able to make the pass and again settled
for third place. Baron’s 3-3 finishes put
him in the final spot on the pro podium for the
end of the season. Baron’s solid performance
all season long allowed him to finish in second
in pro points.

both motos, but was unable to make the pass
for a 3rd place finish |
“It wasn’t quite the way in wanted
to end the season, but I was having some suspension
issues and the quad wasn’t dialed in, so
I just gave it everything I had and tried to run
a good race. I have to thank all of our sponsors
for everything they have done for us this season
and I’m looking forward to next year,”
stated Baron.
Ethan Thatcher put in two solid motos to take
fourth overall. Thatcher was in fifth off the
start in the first moto and battled it out with
Colt Brinkerhoff before taking over the number
four spot, where he would stay until reaching
the checkered flag.
