Nelson Dominates Yamaha / Quad-X Season Finale

Nelson, wrapped up the 2011 championship a round
early, so for the final round of racing, Nelson
ran the #1 plate on his Yamaha YFZ450R as part
of the end of year celebration.

For the start of the first Pro Production moto,
Nelson charged off the line and grabbed the holeshot.
From there, Nelson proceeded to pull away and increased
his lead with every lap. Nelson rode a flawless
race and took the checkered flag eight seconds ahead
of the competition for an impression finish.
Moto two was a repeat for Nelson as he again
grabbed the holeshot once again and checked out.
Nelson took the fastest lap time of the moto in
lap seven with a time of 02:21.651 that helped
him pull away and take the moto two win by almost
nine seconds, which Nelson the overall win.

Nelson’s final victory of the season also
was his 8th straight overall win of the season
with Nelson winning every single moto, but one
for the entire 2011 Yamaha Quad-X season. “I’ve
had a great season and I can’t thank everyone
at Yamaha and Golden West and all of my supporters
for everything they have done for me this season.
It has been a great year and I’m looking
forward to being able to come back and defend
my championship next season,” stated Nelson.

MCR Maxxis Tire’s David Haagsma took his
best finishes of the season in the final round.
Haagsma shot off the line in second but had plenty
of company as teammate Beau baron was right on
his grab bar. Haagsma and Baron battled relentlessly
for the entire moto, but Haagsma was able to hold
off Baron and take the number two spot at the
checkered flag.

hold off MCR Racing's #549 Beau Baron for
the entire moto to secure the 2nd spot in
Moto One |
