Dominates Quad-X Racing Double Header
::Continued::

#94 Dustin Nelson grabbed the Holeshot in
Moto 2 & held the lead from start to
finish for his 5th straight overall win |
In moto two, Nelson was determined to get a good
start and grabbed the holeshot. Nelson began to
pull away and had a nice lead as he cruised to the
checkered flag in the number one spot. Nelson’s
2-1 finishes gave him the overall Pro win. “I’m
a little upset about not winning the first moto,
but I got the overall ad that’s what matters
in the championship,” said Nelson.
MCR Maxxis Tire’s Beau Baron grabbed the
moto one holeshot and began to pull away. After
the third lap, Baron had an eight second lead
on Dustin Nelson, who had made his way into second.
Even though Nelson closed the gap and began to
apply the pressure, Baron held his ground and
kept a fast and steady pace all the way to the
finish line, taking his first moto win of the
season.

Elka's #549 Beau Baron finished in the 2nd
spot in Moto 2 for 2nd Overall |
“It felt good to take that win. We have been
doing a lot of fine tuning and testing so I am hoping
to do it again,” said Baron.
In moto two, Baron was in second off the start,
but could not catch Dustin Nelson who was now
doing the huge triple jump consistently in every
lap. Baron ran a solid second for the entire moto
and cruised to an easy second place finish for
second overall.
Yamaha’s Josh Row looked impressive as
he made his way to the podium for round five.
Row battled it out with Justin Jones and Dirkie
Baard in the first moto, and would round out the
top five at the checkered flag. In the second
moto, Row was looking strong as he got off to
a good start and made his way into the number
three spot. Row put the hammer down and held off
a charging David Haagsma to take a third place
finish in the second moto, giving him third overall
for the day.

Can-Am's
Jeremie Warnia made a surprise appearance
& finished in 5th |
Can-Am/Motoworks’ Jeremie Warnia came out
to get in a little extra seat time for Saturday’s
round and put in a couple of solid motos, going
3-5 to take a solid fourth place overall.
South African racer Dirkie Baard, who had shown
consistent improvement with each round, did not
disappoint as he charged his way to 4-6 finishes,
allowing him to round out the top five overall.
Justin Jones would hang on for a sixth place
finish and MCR/Maxxis Tire’s David Haagsma,
who ran into a little bad luck in the first moto,
came back strong in moto two. Haagsma’s
12-4 finishes put him in seventh overall. Argentinian
racer Hernan Di Maio, who raced a few select Nationals
in 2006, put in two consistent motos, going 8-9
for eighth overall. Jason Fife would claim ninth
overall and Ethan Thatcher would round out the
top ten.
