A muddy creek crossing
meets fourth place finisher Kyle Martin's
Dirtworks Motorsports Honda. Martin was
happy to finish the event after some pre-race
issues with the machine, but the Missouri
based racer was disappointed with missing
the podium.

Kyle Martin was disappointed with finishing
just off the podium, but said “I’m
just happy to finish. We had some issues with
the bike before the race and I think we go them
worked through good enough to finish. We ran
a pretty solid race.” Series champion
Bryan Hulsey was also not thrilled with his
finish, but said “It was good to have
a good race today. Obviously you want to be
up on the box there. I was glad to finish.”
It was a good day to race, and Bill Gusse
put together another one of his classic race courses
with a mix of everything from rocks and roots,
to wide open, blazing fast grass track sections.
The racers said they had fun, but many will also
be feeling some aches and pains from this installment
of torture, Gusse style. The Parts Unlimited OMA
Nationals series is famous, or possibly infamous,
for challenging even the best rider with courses
created by an old Enduro racer that loves to keep
the degree of difficulty at a slightly uncomfortable
level. Smaller crowds allow a more intimate connection
with the history and legacy of woods racing, and
this series is able to cater to the racer looking
for that old school feel in a race course. If
you are looking for a challenge, you deserve to
take on the OMA Nationals series. This is offroad
racing. Check out the series schedule along with

but the Texan
would have to settle for seventh place
at the DP Brakes Coal Miner XC.

Reigning OMA Nationals
series champion Bryan Hulsey splashed
through on this lap through the creek
at round three of the OMA Nationals series.
The Missouri racer has missed the podium
so far this year, but he bettered current
series points leader Shawn Hess at this
event to gather some momentum in the points
race.
