#70 Mathieu Deroy placed third in Pro Moto 1 at AK Farms |
Bringing home a 2nd place overall finish, for the second weekend in a row, was the #70 PLX Sport / BRP Can-Am entry of Mathieu Deroy. Deroy would suffer a very painful crash earlier on Saturday, during practice, and would not be feeling his best when Sunday’s motos rolled around. Nevertheless, Deroy would put his Can-Am DS450 ATV to work and do battle in the first moto. Deroy came off the line around the top five and then worked his way up to 3rd place as the 8 laps ticked by. Deroy’s biggest threat was #117 Mike Bluy as the pair would do battle up until the final laps of the race which saw Deroy nudging by in a bottom corner of the track to secure the 3rd place position.

Motoworks / Elka Suspension’s Mathieu Deroy faired better in the second Pro moto of the day however taking the second spot on the start behind Young. Deroy would work his way around Honda mounted Preston Young to take over the first place position.
He then remained here for much of the race until Moore came in hot pursuit. Deroy would eventually be overtaken on an uphill rhythm section but would be pleased with his second place finish on the day in the Pro class.

#172 MR Unlimited / DASA’s Preston Young would take the early lead in Pro moto one after ripping the Holeshot ahead of the 9 of Pro racers. Young then put in very consistent laps and did battle with Moore as he was on his way to the front of the pack. After Moore slipped by, Young put his head down and held off the rest of the pack for the remainder of the race to secure a second place finish, his best of the year thus far.
