Can-Am rider Nicole Gates had an excellent day
at the track this weekend. Gates had a strong
start in the first Women’s moto. Gates stayed
out in front throughout the first moto, and held
off number 171, Larissa Griffiths from taking
her lead. Gates would take the win in the first
moto. In the second moto, Gates flew off the line
out in front and again, kept herself out in front
during the second moto. Gates would take the win
in the second moto, giving her the overall win
in the Women’s class. Larissa Griffiths,
from Middletown, New York, also had excellent
starts and ran well in both Women’s motos.
Griffiths went 3-2, finishing second overall.
Rounding out the top three is East Windsor, Connecticut’s
Amy Pomeroy, who went 4-3.
The 4 Stroke A class held 15 riders this weekend,
and Hainesport, New Jersey’s Quinton Barto
ended up taking the overall win for the class.
Barto ran two great motos, battling with Abram
Hakala in both. In the first moto, Barto was out
in the front of the pack, battling to take the
lead from Hakala. Barto would take second. In
the second moto, Barto was again out in the front,
and would take first, finishing first overall.
New Ipswich, New Hampshire’s Abram Hakala
had a great race day at Hurricane Hills. Hakala
took the win in the first moto, and second in
the second moto, finishing second overall. Filling
out the podium is West Springfield, Massachusetts
Mark Gehring, who went 3-5.
The Sport 15+ class held 7 riders race day. Nicholas
Major, number 799, ran two outstanding moto’s.
With two fast off the line starts into the front
of the pack and keeping himself out in front,
Major would take the win in both motos. Major
took the overall win in the Sport 15+ class. Meriden,
Connecticut’s Ryan Oullet also had a great
race day. Oullet had good starts and rode hard,
keeping himself in the front of the pack. Oullet
went 2-2 in his motos, taking second overall.
Filling out the top three is West Springfield,
Massachusetts Avery Vazquez, who went 3-3.
The eleventh round of NEATV-MX will visit a new
track for the series, MX101 in Epping, New Hampshire
August 18, 2011.
