NEATV-MX - New England ATV Motocross Series

2010 NEATV-MX Pro & Amateur ATV Race Report
::Continued::

Pro ATV Moto One >> Continued
Jasmin Plante applied the heavy pressure to Cody Miller for the entire race and didn’t allow him to have any breathing room as the pair battled with each other and progressively pulled away from the rest of the Pro pack.

"I’ve never been here to MX207 before so I practiced a lot on Saturday which set me up in good condition on Sunday. I feel very good and my quad does too, the track is very fast and I like that. Miller is very fast and we both put a lot of pressure on eachother during the race," said Plante after a hard-faught battle in pro moto one.

Jason Connell put his DASA Honda ATV in the 3rd spot during moto one and on the podium for the Pro Class for the second race in a row

Third position in Moto One and third overall in the Pro class, Jason Connell stayed consistent and went 3-3 on the day. Jason had little pressure during moto one and rode his own race but pushing forward hard and attempting to mix things up with Miller and Plante as they battled amongst one another up front in first and second positions. Jason commented after the race, “ I rode really hard and tried to fight through the dust as best as I could, there are a lot of big jumps on this track and my Elka shocks soaked up the hits. I ended up lying back the last couple of laps and I’m really happy to be back on the podium with help from my Mom and Dad.”

Joe Haavisto - Can-Am DS450 ATV

Motoworks / Can-Am's #1 Joe Haavisto finished in 4th

Motoworks’ Can-Am racer Joe Haavisto finished in the fourth position after getting around Jesse Onesti by the end of lap one and gaining time on Jason Connell and the two race leaders. Putting pressure on Haavisto and closing out of however, was the NEATV-MX new comer Bobby Ross, mounted on a Team Southside Polaris Outlaw. After getting around Onesti by lap three he began to work on Haavisto but couldn’t close the door before the end of the eight-lapper.

Pro ATV Moto Two
In Pro Moto Two, the story was a little bit different as it saw no passing between the top two spots, but that doesn’t mean there was any less action! The holeshot again belonged to Jasmin Plante as he edged out Cody Miller, Bobby Ross and Jason Connell and lead them through the first turn and over the Rochester Motorsports table-top.

Jasmin Plante grabbed his second holeshot of the day in the Pro Class, this time he held his lead all the way to the finish line

Plante held his own despite intense pressure from Miller as they completed lap after lap of the eight lap Pro Moto two. Plante went 2-1 on the day to take his first overall of the 2010 season and was very happy of the win. “ I really like this track because it’s fast and my quad was running very good on it,” said Plante.

#91 Jasmin Plante was able to shut the door on Cody Miller in Moto 2 to claim the win & the overall with Miller in 2nd

In the end, BCS Can-Am racer Cody Miller was not able to get close enough to make a secure pass on Plante and had to settle for second place and allow first overall to slip from his grasp as he went 1-2 on the day. His points chase hopes are still alive after round three and is still happy to be on the podium again despite suffering from a foot injury during the week prior to the race and racing at a track that he has never been to before.

Jason Connell is becoming a household name in the Pro ranks as he once again, stuck his DASA Honda in the third spot and pulled off third overall for the weekend. Joe Haavisto once again found himself in the fourth place for moto two after he got around Bobby Ross near lap five and began gaining time on Jason Connell. Ross rounded out the top five in Pro moto two and seemed happy to be racing in the NEATV now for the remainder of the season.

Rich Stambach landed in sixth overall with 9-6 finishes followed by Vinny Mofford (7-8), Michael Pilotte (10-7) who still raced despite his broken wrist, Jesse Onesti (8-9), and Nate Morello who rounded out of the top ten with many mechanical issues.
