Can-Am's Richard Pelchat
Wins 2011 Montreal Supermotocross
::Continued::
Can-Am’s Josh Creamer took a hard hit in
Friday’s practice after flat landing the
finish line double. The impact caused him to bite
through his tongue, which was painful, but not
detrimental to his performance. Creamer went on
to take the win in his heat race and was hoping
for the win in the main, but after getting tangled
in the first turn, Creamer found himself at the
back of the pack and had to fight his way to the
front.

DWT's #270
Josh Creamer was on the move from the
back of the pack as he recorded the fastest
laptime of the race in the 9th lap with
a time of 42.929, but it wasn't enough
to earn him a spot on the podium as he
finished in the 4th spot behind John Natalie
|
Creamer battled it out with Josh Upperman for
several laps before he was able to get ahead.
With many slower riders in his way, it was difficult
to make up time, but Creamer did work up to fourth
place and was gaining on John Natalie but ran
out of time before he was able to make a move,
giving him fourth overall for the day.
“It was a great weekend. I was really impressed
with Richard. He rode really well and I’m
really proud of him. It was a tough first turn
for Josh, Cody and John, but I was really impressed
with how everyone came back through the pack,”
said Can-Am’s Jimmie O’Dell, who was
in attendance for the event.
New England series racer, Bobby Desjardins, put
in a solid performance and hung on to round out
the top five in the pro class.

Baldwin's
#20 Josh Upperman was on the move through
the pack with #270 Josh Creamer until
Upperman collided with a lapper, which
sent him down a lap
|
Baldwin Motorsports’ Josh Upperman was looking
good in both practice and his heat race, but got
caught up off the start along with everyone else.
Upperman got back out there and battled it out with
Josh Creamer for several laps. Upperman was trying
for a pass on Creamer in the whoops section of the
track, but another rider cut right into Upperman’s
line, causing Upperman to crash, putting him a lap
down. Despite his best efforts, Upperman was not
able to catch up and would settle for finishing
outside of the top ten in the unlucky number 13
spot, a finish that Upperman has not seen in quite
some time.
This was also the first year the Montreal Supercross
incorporated Side-by-Side racers into the event
and proved to be one of the most exciting races
of the evening. The course was modified a bit
for the UTV’s but still offered plenty of
challenges that led to quite a bit of destruction.
In spite of the chaos and carnage,

Holz Racing
/ Can-Am's Mark Holz grabbed the SxS Holeshot
& held the lead from start to finish
piloting his Can-Am Commander UTV

Mark Holz
took the win by an impression margin of
nearly 20 seconds over second place in
his Can-Am Commander
|
Can-Am/Motoworks’ Mark Holz was able to grab
the holeshot and check out on the competition. Holz
led from start to finish and took the Side-by-Side
win. “Mark Holz did a great job driving the
Commander. He knew he had his work cut out for him,
but he did it and came out on top. It was mission
accomplished,” said Jimmie O’Dell, who
was quite pleased with the event.
After years of trying, Richard Pelchat will be
celebrating as he finally took the Montreal Supercross
Championship. Now he will have his work cut out
for him defending his title next year for the
2012 Montreal Supermotocross.
