Can-Am's Richard Pelchat
Wins 2011 Montreal Supermotocross
::Continued::
Pelchat rode a flawless race and cruised to take
his first-ever Montreal Supercross Pro win. “It
took a long time but I finally took the win. It
felt good to take the win in my home country.
I have had bad luck in previous years so it felt
very good. I’ve always like the Montreal
Supermotocross. It’s a fun race and it I
always enjoy racing in front of so many people,”
stated Pelchat.

Canada's hometown hero, #46 Richard Pelchat,
claimed the win with an 8 second margin
of victory, which was a big win for Pelchat

The 2011 Montreal
Supermotocross track was very technical
with three large triple jumps, which only
a few of the top Pro ATV racers attempted
including #22 Cody Miller
|
Can-Am/BCS Performance’s Cody Miller, who
is particularly fond of technical courses, has always
been successful at the Montreal event and this year
was no exception, despite being involved in the
first turn pile-up. “It was pretty crazy off
the start, everyone got caught up together. I was
able to get free pretty quick and took off right
behind John Natalie,” explained Miller. Miller
followed Natalie for several laps as the pair charged
through the pack and headed toward the front. Soon
Miller found himself challenging Natalie for the
number two spot.

BCS Performance's
#22 Cody Miller was able to make the pass
on #13 John Natalie to claim the 2nd spot
on the Podium

Miller was the first racer to attempt the triple-triple
section and was one of the few taking it consistently,
which paid off for him in lap six. “I was
right behind John and we came into the triples and
I just went for it and got around him,” said
Miller.
The number 22 Can-Am racer was able to hold off
Natalie for the remainder of the race to claim
a respectable second on the pro podium. “I
had a lot of fun out there and I’m really
happy to finish on the podium. I have to thank
BCS Performance, Can-Am, and Elka Suspension.
The guys at Elka did some major changes to my
set up for this race and had my quad handling
like it was on rails. It was awesome!” stated
Miller.
Can-Am/Motoworks’ John Natalie, Jr. was
looking good in his heat race and was a favorite
to win this event after taking the 2011 AMA ATV
Motocross Championship title, but the first turn
pile up caused him to fall back and forced him
to work his way through traffic. “Everyone
was going for the holeshot and then there was
just this huge pile up and next thing I knew I
was landing on my head,” said Natalie, who
was luckily uninjured.

Montreal Supermotocross Champion & 2011
AMA ATV MX Champion, #13 John Natalie, secured
the final spot on the Podium |
In true Ironman form, Natalie charged hard and
made his way into the number two spot. Natalie
held his position for a few laps before Miller
made the pass on Natalie. Natalie tried to remount
a charge, but lap traffic and a challenging track
left little room for him to make a pass and he
would have to settle for the third spot on the
podium. “It was a good track and it was
a lot of fun out there,” stated Natalie.
