Culver, IN (9/17/2014) – The MAXC Racing Series headed to northern Indiana this past weekend for the third annual Blackhawk MAXC in Culver, IN. Each year, the Blackhawk Motorcycle Club sets up a fun and challenging course for racers. This year, Marshal Goings earned the win in the MAXC Pro ATV Class and was joined on the podium with Cole Richardson in second and Taylor Kiser in third.

The Blackhawk Motorcycle Club has a long history of XC racing and was once again ecstatic to host another MAXC Race. The sandy course was 8 miles in length and was fairly flat but it did have its many obstacles as the loamy track became rutted out with each progressing lap. New for this year, the track crew set up an endurocross type section that featured many log crossing that challenged each racers endurance and riding skills. The endurocross section was a very popular spectator area as race fans lined each side of the course to watch racers battle through this particular section of the course.

Indiana native Marshal Goings was the first to cross the finish line after racing just over two hours. After starting from the rear of the pack, Marshal Goings came through scoring in fourth at the end of the first lap. By the second lap, Goings began to battle with Cole Richardson for the number one spot. The two would battle back and fourth and remained within eyesight of each other for the remaining five laps until the finish.

“Today was rough and the whole track was sandy. We got a good grove going and the corners got bermed up pretty good. Cole [Richardson] and I battled it out all day and Taylor [Kiser] ran with us for a while. Overall it was a good day!” stated Marshal Goings.
