Monrovia, IN (9/9/2013) - The AMA Mid America Cross Country Racing Series hosted round 7 of the ten round series at the Bulldog MAXC in Monrovia, IN. The Bulldog is another new location for the AMA MAXC Racing Series and it would be an immediate hit with both racers and spectators. Kevin Cunningham would earn his long awaited first win of the season followed by Taylor Kiser and Ryan Lane rounding out the Pro ATV Podium.
The Bulldog MAXC is located just minutes outside of Monrovia, IN the race actually coincided with the annual Monrovia Festival that featured many other festivities including a car and bike show, tractor pulls, live music, art show, and a parade. T&T Motorsports also sponsored a free shuttle that took spectators to and from the track to the Monrovia Festival just a half-mile down the road.
The new location consisted of a compact five and a half mile long course that consisted of a mix of high-speed open field sections, creek crossings, jumps, technical woods, and more. The short compact track meant there would be plenty of room for passing and the racing action would be intense and exciting to watch.

With the high temperatures and no rainfall the Bulldog MAXC track dried out very easily. Although the MAXC crew did their best to keep the dust on the track to a minimum with two water trucks, the course would dry out quicker than they could water it!

After getting a mid pack start Kevin Cunningham began to work his way up to the front of the pack and then took over the lead on lap one when he took a line that no one else was taking. Cunningham then put the hammer down and began to put some time between him and the rest of the pro field. Cunningham would finish an impressive near six minutes ahead of second place.

“I got an average start and I was about mid pack. I started working my way up through. About halfway through the first lap there was a pro line that was a steep downhill and everybody went to the left and went clear around it and I dropped down it and got out front and I just put my head down to put a good gap in between us and kept the hammer down, ” Explained Cunningham Racing’s Kevin Cunningham of his win at the Bulldog MAXC.
