Lucas Oil On the Edge ATV Dirt Track Racing

2010 Lucas Oil Fall Pro ATV Shootout Pro & Pro-Am Race Report
::Continued::

PRO ATV MAIN RACE REPORT >>CONTINUED

The Brownstown, Michigan native, Harold Goodman, would put his Yoshimura/Houser Racing TRX450R in second place nearly from the get-go as he was able to sneak by Cooke off the start and into the first corner. Goodman’s race would be filled with the rear bumper of Coburn as the pair rounded each blue-grooved corner each hot on the throttle. Unfortunately for Goodman, he was not able to make his way around Coburn, even after the few yellow flags that were flown on the course for other rider’s mistakes.

Houser's Harold Goodman would have to settle for second place in the Pro main behind Coburn but he would make the most of his time behind him, mixing it up each lap trying to find a way around on the tight course!

Goodman would keep the pressure on Coburn for the remainder of the race and take away the $700 dollar second place prize from the Pro purse. “ I can’t thank my sponsors enough for helping me be out here and running with the fastest guys on the planet. My quad ran great after lastnight’s qualifying and I just kept the pressure up but Coburn ran a great race with no mistakes,” said Goodman after the event.

North Carolina’s Kirby Cooke would be forced to put a smile on his face as he grimaced through the pain of his back injury sustained earlier in the day during the Pro-Am Main event. As Cooke rounded turn one of the short track oval course he would get ejected from his quad and get slammed against the tire barriers lining the course. Even though Cooke would be hurt during his accident he would press on and race in the Pro main event! Cooke would slot into second place off the start but quickly be bumped back to third place by Goodman. Third place is where Cooke would reside for the remainder of the Pro main and walk away with a $400 dollar slice of the Pro Purse and another podium finish under his belt.

Kirby Cooke would come on strong during the Pro main to a solid third place position for the entire race. Although he was right in the thick of things, there was not as much pressure on his position for a battle as the two leaders were duking it out up front and 4th-10th place were all in a heated battle which allowed Cooke to ride his own race and remain flawless

“I got slammed and banged up really hard,” said Cooke after the event. “I’m really happy I was able to get out there in good position off the start and even though this sandy track is really tight and tough, my Maxxis tires did their job and never gave me any problems. My back is really tender right now but I’m stoked to be here on the podium!”

Colter Loshbaugh would put his PEP/H&H Extreme Suzuki just off the podium in fourth place after a few hard fought battles with Brad Riley who would land his N-Style Construction Honda in fifth place overall in the Pro main.

#67 Daryl Rath would make a showing at SEMO & put his RATH Racing Polaris Outlaw in the ninth place position overall!

H&H Extreme’s Josh Hibdon would make a strong showing at SEMO as he place his Honda in sixth place just ahead of Trent Powell in seventh. Tanner Young would come away with an eighth place finish followed by Rath Racing’s Daryl Rath in ninth and Kris Bures in tenth.

The Pro main was very exciting with its 25 racers, but the Pro-Am main would prove to be more of a whirlwind with its total racer count heading north to just shy of 35 racers!
