Josh
Creamer leads Wimmer & Ellis |
When the gate dropped for the second Pro moto, Josh
Creamer was first off the line with Nelson in second
and Ellis in third. Jeremy Schell was busy working
his way up from a 6th place holeshot until he ran
into problems after only one lap. “My stator
gasket blew and sprayed oil everywhere.” Said
the former 3-time Quadcross champion. Jeremy’s
issue knocked him out of contention for the rest
of the moto landing him a 12th place overall. Josh
Creamer was doing a good job of holding off Dustin
Nelson, until an unexpected dismount, which allowed
Nelson to take over the lead. Dustin Nelson went
on to finish with the overall win, with Josh Creamer
in second and Kory Ellis in third. John Ragon ended
up taking fourth overall and Landon Hurst finished
with fifth.

Nelson claims his 2nd win of the season |
With the season final only weeks away, and only
a few points separating first, second, and third
place, the competition in the Open Pro class has
been pretty intense over the last couple of races,
with round 10 being no exception. John Ragon was
first off the gate, and despite having last pick
of gate positions, took the holeshot with TJ Dietrich,
Danny Ragan and Darrel Patton hot on his heels,
however Danny Ragan got tangled up with Steve
Beilman in the corner which sent him back several
places.
In the mean time, Darrel Patton, who suddenly
found himself in third after Ragan’s incident,
was trying to catch 2nd place Dietrich. Unfortunately,
Patton was not able to close in fast enough for
a pass before the checkered flag. John Ragon took
the win in the first moto, followed by Deitrich
in second and Patton in third. Rafael Guzman took
fourth in the first moto, and Danny Ragan finished
fifth despite his first lap encounter with Beilman.
Despite an impressive first place finish in moto
one, John Ragon was put out of contention due to
a kick start issue. “I was at the line and
my kick starter just broke off!” Said Ragon.
John’s misfortune allowed TJ Deitrich to get
the holeshot, followed by Patton and Danny Ragan.
“I was in second for about three laps and
then Danny managed to get around me.” Stated
Patton. Deitrich ended the day taking the overall
win, with Danny Ragan in second, and Darrel Patton
in third. Deitrich’s win puts him in the points
lead with Patton only 3 points behind him and Danny
Ragan only 8 points off the lead. With the points
chase so close, it will be an intense battle between
these three riders at the series final. The
final round of the 2007 ITP Quadcross is a double
points round and will be held at Glen Helen Raceway
on December 2nd.
