#1 Angela Butler steals the show in the
Open Pro class by pulling the Holeshot in
Both Motos & claiming the Overall Win |
The Pro class wasn’t the only class that offered
up plenty of excitement. Lonestar’s Angela
Butler decided to join the guys in the Open Pro
class and made quite an impression. “I was
beat by a girl!” Doug Eichner said jokingly,
as he commented on Angela Butler’s double
holeshot and overall win in the Open Pro class.
“Angela is awesome. She took the holeshot
in both motos. In the first moto, I passed her just
into the second lap and I held on to first until
almost the last lap when Josh (Frederick) got around
me.” Said Doug. Eichner finished second to
Frederick in the first moto. Unfortunately for Eichner,
he didn’t fair as well in the second moto.
“I got tangled up in the first corner and
flipped.” He said. “My steering stem
was bent really bad and I wasn’t able to finish
the race.” Luckily Eichner only sustained
a few minor scrapes and bruises despite the ordeal.

Doug Eichner & Josh Frederick battling
for the lead with Frederick eventually winning
both Motos on his Honda before being DQed
because he raced the same quad in both the
Open Pro & Pro Class |
Josh Frederick was disqualified despite his impressive
1st moto run. Frederick’s DQ, all though unfortunate,
bumped up the rest of the racers in the Open Pro
class. When it was all said and done, Angela Butler
was standing 1st on the podium followed by Danny
Ragan in 2nd and Darrell Patton in 3rd. TJ Dietrich
went on to take 4th place and Keith Taylor took
5th overall.
The next round of the ITP Quadcross will be held
in just a few days on October 7th at Tulare Cycle
Park, in Tulare, CA. There are only three rounds
left for the 2007 ITP Quadcross series. If you
want more information about these last three upcoming
races, you can visit the ITP Quadcross website
