in the Pro Production & Open Pro classes |
Adelanto, CA -
Yamaha’s Dustin Nelson claimed
top honors at round eight of the 2010 ITP Quadcross
series as he took the overall Pro Production win
and the overall Open Pro win, while MCR/Maxxis Tire’s
Beau Baron and Goldenwest Cycle’s Jason Dunkelberger
would join him on the Pro Production podium.
Racetown 395 was the hosting facility for the
next to last round of the 2010 ITP Quadcross season.
Good weather was on tap for the day as racers
took to the starting line for moto one of the
Pro Production class.
Although Justin Noss would grab the early lead
in moto one, fellow Yamaha racer Dustin Nelson
was close behind in third place, and Nelson was
determined to take over the lead as he made his
way past Beau Baron to take over second place
in lap two and began to chase down Noss. Nelson
waited for an opportunity and in lap three, he
took over the lead and checked out on the pair.Nelson
recorded the fastest lap time of the moto in lap
four with a time of 02:12.466. Nelson laid down
consistently fast lap times and took the checkered
flag with an eleven second lead over Beau Baron

In the second moto, Nelson grabbed the holeshot
and never looked back. Nelson led from start to
finish and again recorded the fastest lap time
of the moto and crossed the finish line over 20
seconds ahead of second place.
“I felt good out there and my quad was
handling great. I was riding a comfortable, fast
pace and everything just went really well for
me, which is what I was hoping for so I can have
a little more cushion in points,” said Nelson,
who took the overall Pro Production win.
MCR/Maxxis Tire’s Beau Baron was looking
strong as he grabbed the holeshot in moto one,
but would quickly find himself in a battle with
Justin Noss as he made the pass for the lead.
Baron would battle with Justin Noss for a good
portion of the moto before making the pass on
Noss at the midway point and finished in second
place behind Nelson.
