Springville, IN - The Dunlop Limestone 100 was held in Springville, Indiana on May 18th and Walker Fowler put in a grueling four laps to claim his first victory of the AMSOIL Grand National Cross Country season. He was followed in hot pursuit by FourWerx Carbon’s Chris Bithell and HMF’s Chris Borich.
The sixth round of the series featured over nine miles of classic Indiana terrain. The race was held on ABATE owned land at the Lawrence County Recreational Park. The area is already a top riding destination in the area and brings a great mix of terrain and elevation to GNCC racing.

Am-Pro’s Walker Fowler made it his day by leading all four laps and commanding his first win of the season. Fowler got off the line is good position, but was pushed a little wide heading into the first turn. He took over the lead near the eighth mile marker when Chris Bithell let him by. Once he was in the lead Fowler put on a staggering charge that usually isn’t seen until the later laps of the race.

Fowler kept his quick pace up for all four laps; he had pressure all race from HMF’s Chris Bithell, but Fowler maintained control the entire time. Fowler's win not only put a stop to defending GNCC XC1 Pro Champion Chris Borich's winning streak, it but also gave him a stronger hold on second place in the overall point’s standings. Fowler currently has a ten point lead over Bithell.
Reliable Tool Supply’s Chris Bithell put in another stellar ride to earn his third podium finish of the season. Bithell was last off the line, but put on some great moves during the first three turns to head into the woods in fourth position. Bithell eventually passed his way to the lead during the first lap, but let Fowler was able to make the pass to gain to lead near the end of lap 1. Bithell kept pressure on Fowler for the entire race. He was hoping to make a last lap charge, but got stuck and was set back for several seconds. Bithell rebounded from the mistake and crossed the checkers just 05.640 behind the Fowler.

“The track was great, I knew if the rain held off we would have a good day and luckily we stayed dry. The track did get a little rough, but my Maxxis Tires and FOX suspension worked flawlessly. I can’t say enough about everyone that helps me to get here and I am happy to be back up on the box,” regarded Bithell after the race. Bithell currently holds third in the overall points.
