Pro & ProAm ATV Race Report - Continued

In the ProAm Unlimited class. Brandon Sullenger won the first heat convincingly as he was never challenged by Chad Winfrey and Kristopher Bures rounding out the top three. In the second heat race, Chris Gary was able to charge his way to the front of the pack followed by Marc Noreuil and Houston Lowder. In the final heat race, Zach Stanley recovered from a slow start to claim the win followed by Trent Powell and Walter Whitehead.

The ProAm Production class was staked with many of the top Pro riders competing in it as well, which provided for some intense heat racing action. The ProAm Production class only had two heat races with ten riders in each. In heat one, Harold Goodman launched off the line with the Holeshot and held the position till the checkered flag followed by Mitch Reynolds and Michael Coburn. In heat two, it was California’s Frank Batista grabbing the Holeshot over Shane Hitt and Zac Willet. Hitt challenged Batista for the lead lap after lap, but Batista was able to maintain his position out front and claim the win.

#137 Mitch Reynolds was no match for Goodman, but he was able to hold off Coburn for a 2nd Place finish in Heat 2

Frank Batista & Shane Hitt were side by side several times in the 2nd Heat, but Batista was able to out power Hitt for the Win

After the Pro and ProAm heat races were complete, the amateur racing continued while the pros were getting ready for the main events. After only four more amateur heats the rain started to fall again. This time it would end the racing for the weekend. Referee “Smitty” warned the racers at the riders meeting the radar was showing rain moving into the area and the final scoring may be from the heat races, and indeed it did.

#5 Shane Hitt Wins his first Pro Race since 2005, and he is currently tied for the points lead with Harold Goodman
In the Pro class, seven-time national champion, Shane Hitt, was awarded the win for having the fastest heat race time followed by Houser’s Harold Goodman and Rath Racing’s Danny McGraw earning his first Pro Podium. Michael Coburn finished fourth followed by Mitch Reynolds, Zac Willett, Frank Batista, Zach Stanley, Brad Riley, and Chris Gary rounding out the top ten.

The win by Hitt put him in a tie for the Pro points lead with Goodman followed by Coburn in third. Batista and Reynolds are tied for fourth place and only one point behind Coburn as the points battle begins after only two rounds of racing.

In ProAm Production, Harold Goodman’s heat time earned him the win followed Frank Batista and Mitch Reynolds, and in the ProAm Unlimited, Chris Gary was awarded the win followed by Brandon Sullenger and Zach Stanley.

EDT racers will be looking for a dry weekend when the series continues July 7th in Danville, Virginia at the Birch Creek Motorsports Complex.
