Garretson, SD (6/28/2013) - Round
4 of the 2013 AMA Extreme Dirt Track series was
the second day of the double header round of racing
in Garretson, South Dakota at the Sioux Valley Cycle
Club, but unlike the perfect race conditions on
Friday, rain moved in Saturday morning, which postponed
the racing action till 3PM in the afternoon.
The last start to racing forced a shortened heat
races for the amateurs, but the Pro ATV Main events
were only delayed slightly from the original race
schedule, since hundreds of fans gathered on the
hillside to watch the show.
In the Extreme Dirt Track Pro ATV main event,
Hoosier Racing’s Harold Goodman grabbed
the holeshot followed by Michael Coburn and Daryl
Rath. Goodman held the lead for the first half
of the race with Coburn and Riley moving into
the third spot. In lap twelve, Coburn made the
pass on Goodman to take over the lead.

Pro ATV Holeshot |
“I made the pass on Harold by searching
for different lines. I was gaining on him going
into the option lane; I hooked up really hard
and was set up perfect to get around him on the
outside in the next corner,” said Coburn.

Michael Coburn hung on to claim his 2nd
Pro Win on the weekend with a huge hometown
crowd of friends & family along the
track to cheer him on to the win |
Walsh Race Craft’s Coburn wasn’t
able to shake Goodman once he got out front, and
Goodman made a pass attempt on the final lap,
but wasn’t able to reel in Coburn before
the checkered flag. “I kept up with them
and never tried to make a pass till the last lap
on the split lane. It didn’t work, but it
turned out a good ride,” said Goodman.
Coburn’s Pro win was his second for the
weekend for a double header sweep at his hometown
track, which boosted Coburn up into the second
spot in the points race just six points behind
Goodman. “The track was great; everyone
worked really hard on it. The rain on Saturday
messed us up a bit but we were able to get all
the races in, and It’s huge to get the win
at my home track. I had a lot of family and friends
here watching and it was just awesome. I was so
excited to get the pass on Harold,” said
Coburn<

DASA Racing's #71 Nathan Wolff
charged his way into the final spot on the
podium |
DASA Racing’s Nathan Wolff was on the move
as he charged his way past both Daryl Rath and
Josh Hibdon to move into the final podium spot
on lap fourteen, which Wolff held to the checkered
flag with Riley in chase. For Wolff it was his
first Pro podium finish of the year, and he is
currently sixth in points.
“I got a terrible start and was back in
the pack. I put my head down and started going
to work. I held off Brad for the last two laps
and didn’t even know were fighting for third
until he was really beating on my door. It was
a good race though,” said Wolff.
