& the overall win |
In the Pro-am Unlimited class, it was Kirby Cooke
who would grab the holeshot, but he had planet
of company in the way of Michael Coburn. Cooke
was looking solid, but ended up spinning out early
in the race, allowing Coburn to take the lead.
“I knew once I got in the lead that I needed
to pull away because I knew that Brad Riley would
be coming through the pack and I wanted to get
a good gap before that happened,” explained
Coburn. And just as he described, Riley would
eventually make his way through to second, but
Coburn had a good lead and was able to cruise
to the checkered flag to take his third win of
the day. “It felt great to be able to race
at home and win like that. Had a lot of family
here supporting me and friends and it felt really
good to be able to put in a good show for them,”
said Coburn.
