Fox Racing Shox's Greg Gee remained hot
on Sunday for Round 3 when he went 1-1 again
for another overall win |
As the gate dropped for the first moto on Sunday
for round three of the series, Greg Gee picked up
right where he left off the day before and took
the moto one holeshot. Once out front, Gee checked
out, pulling a ten second lead before crossing the
finish line for the moto one win.
Moto two did not go much differently for Gee as
he again grabbed the holeshot and led from start
to finish. Pelchat was a little closer for the second
moto, but was not able to close in enough to get
by Gee, giving Gee the moto two win and the
overall once again. Gee’s sweep of the double
header also gave him the pro points lead.
“I’m glad to be ahead in points again.
I’m going to go out there for the next round
and hopefully get another overall so I can keep
the lead and take another championship at the
end of the season,” said Gee.

Can-Am's #46 Richard Pelchat finished out
the day 2-2 for 2nd Overall |
Round three was also a repeat for Richard Pelchat
as he was in second off the start in both motos
and held his position from start to finish. Pelchat’s
2-2 finishes put him in the second spot on the
pro podium for round number three.
“I wasn’t feeling 100% this weekend
so I’m going to go home and recharge and
do some more training so I can take the win at
round four and get back the points lead,”
said Pelchat.

Thor's #77 James Bank rebounded on Sunday
for the final spot on the Podium |
James Bank, who missed out on the podium on Saturday
due to a flat tire in moto two, rebounded for Sunday’s
motos. Bank took solid 3-3 finishes and claimed
the final spot on the pro podium.
Tyler Summers hung on after battling it out with
James Bank again, but this time, Summers would
have to settle for fourth place in both motos
giving him fourth overall for the day. Summers
did not go away empty handed however as he also
raced in the Pro-am class and swept all four motos,
taking both day’s overall wins. Summers’
strong performance also allowed him to take the
Pro-am points lead, where he is hoping to take
home a championship at the end of the season.
“I really have to thank Royal Distributing,
KTM Canada, HB Cycles and all of my sponsors for
letting me come out here and be successful this
weekend,” said Summers, who is feeling a
bit more confident after sweeping the Pro-am class.
Rounds number four and five of the CMRC Canada
Cup will head to Gopher Dunes Raceway in Courtland,
Ontario on August 6th and 7th where Greg Gee and
Richard Pelchat will be battling it out for the
Pro points lead.
