ROUND 9 - SUNDAY ATV MOTOS CONTINUED

Yamaha’s Jasmin Plante’s Sunday would go as planned with no issues with his ATV as he finished in third position for moto one as he came off the line in good position and battled his way to the finish line.

Jasmin Plante would go on to take 2nd place for the day at OCD Parry Sound after going 3-2 on the day but would finish in 3rd place overall in the points standings for the Canada Cup

Moto two was roughly the same for Plante as he was again in third place for much of the moto until Pelchat ran into issues which would allow him to move up into second place before crossing the line. Jasmin would finish in second place overall after going 3-2 on the day at Parry Sound.

James Bank - KTM 450SX ATV
James Bank was in the thick of thing all weekend long running in the top 5 but was able to settle in 3rd place on Sunday's overall podium
Royal Distributing’s James Bank has been securing 4th place positions all year long as he has not been able to sneak by Plante, Pelchat, or Gee. Moto one for Bank was nothing short of consistent of the rest of his season as he again finished in 4th place after doing battle with the other CMRC Pro racers. Moto two for Bank would see him running in 4th place again for much of the moto until he was able to move up into third place after Pelchat dropped out of the running. Bank’s 4-3 finish was good enough to give him third overall on the day for the season finale.

Richard Pelchat ended his day in fourth place overall after finishing second in moto one and seventh in moto two. Pelchat wasn’t too happy with the outcome but chalked it up simply. “ That’s just racing. My weekend was going perfect with taking both moto wins on Saturday but today was just a little rough at the end with bad luck striking me at the worst possible time. I will put this behind me and continue my training for the rest of my races and the Montreal Supercross race in October,” said Pelchat after the event.

Richard Pelchat was putting in a strong run for his 8th championship in his career but unfortunately his ATV gave out near the end of the race due to electrical failure

Dillon Elliot would go on to put his KTm 450SX ATV in the top 5 for the season finale at OCD Parry Sound by going 5-4 on the day

Dillon Elliot went 5-4 on the day to round out the top five aboard his KTM ATV followed by fellow KTM racers Tyler Summers and Carmen Cunnington who went 6-5 and 7-6 respectively. Stephen Haasnoot would go 8-8 on the day but at the end of moto two pulled over to watch the action packed battle up front between Gee, Pelchat, and Plante!

This season has truly been one to remember with the Cup making its way into the hands of an Ontarian for the first time in history! The teams will now prepare for the remainder of the season which will consist of provincial races and various Pro-only events. The Supermotocross de Montreal will take place on October 1-2nd and will see the premier ATV MX racers of both the USA and Canada go head-to-head in battle once again before the snow begins to fly.
