ROUND 5 - SUNDAY ATV MOTOS

Sunday’s motos got underway without a hitch and saw Greg Gee grab the moto one holeshot ahead of Plante, Bank, and Cunnington.

Greg Gee - Honda TRX450R ATV

Greg Gee ripped the first Pro moto holeshot on Sunday as well but was quickly overcome by Plante as he put on an unstoppable charge to the front in the first few moments of the race

Jasmin Plante quickly took over the lead during the first 11:00 AM Pro moto within the first 30 seconds which would send Gee back to second place with Banks and Pelchat fighting for third and fourth. Plante would hold off the advances of the Gee for the entire moto to go on and take his second win of the weekend. In moto two the story was much the same for Plante although this time he was able to secure the holeshot and then continue to lead the race with no passing required on his part.

Yamaha's Jasmin Plante didn't win the holeshot for moto one on Sunday but he quickly gained the lead & heald it to take the win, for moto two he then was able to take the holeshot & lead all the way to the finish once again to claim his second overall win of the weekend & now sits only 2 points behind Gee in the Pro points chase

“The track remained good to me and I was able to just go out there and run my race. I really concentrated on the holeshots and while Gee and I were battling I knew where he was the entire time. I just held my lines, concentrated and came away with both moto wins,” said Plante after the contest. Plante now sits just a few points behind Gee in the overall chase for the 2010 Canada Cup and will be looking for a repeat at Quebec’s XTown MX Park on August 21-22nd.

Greg Gee went 2-2 on the day at Walton MX right behind Plante as the pair battled it out in every turn and over every jump but in the end Gee was not able to put a pass on Plante for the lead. Gee earned another 44 points on Sunday and remains the points leader of the series after rounds four and five.

ProArmor/Fox's Greg Gee grabbed the first moto holeshot but finished in 2nd place while in the second moto he held 2nd place the entire moto to go 2-2 & finish 2nd overall on the day & retain his Championship points lead

“ I got really good starts and stuck with Jasmin for the length of both motos, I just couldn’t get around him. This course, because of the cuts, is really easy to do and doesn’t offer any tech sections where I could make up any time on him. It was a good race and I’m happy to still be in the points lead heading into rounds six and seven in Quebec,” said Gee.

Richard Pelchat was off to a top 5 start in the first Pro moto on Sunday and was trailing James Bank for several laps until he was able to make the pass up to third place and begin putting some distance between himself and the rest of the pack in an effort to catch the front runners.

#46 RP Evolution/Can-Am's Richard Pelchat was able to hang onto 3rd place for both of his Pro motos on Sunday to walk away with a 3rd place overall finish & round out the podium after battling it out on a less-than-favorable race course

Unfortunately for Pelchat he would have to settle for 3rd place in both motos as he was not able to make up any time on Plante and Gee due to the length and condition of the track.
