Jasmin Plante’s second place finish in
the first moto of Saturday set him up in good
position for the second moto of the day in which
he grabbed the holeshot and was able to hold the
lead until the checkered flag flew some 20 minutes
later. His 2-1 finish put him in first place overall
on the day after he edged out Pelchat and Gee
in the second moto.

Jasmin Plante
secured a 2nd place finish in the first
Pro moto on Saturday behind Pelchat but
was able to secure the second Pro moto
holeshot & go on to take his first
of three 1st place finishes after beating
both Gee & Pelchat to the finish line
|
“ My Yamaha was running really well all
day and I liked the smoothness of the track, it’s
not very technical but it’s fast and smooth
which allowed me to pull away from the other guys,”
said Plante after Saturday’s motos.
Richard Pelchat was the man to beat in moto one
and no one answered the call as he put his RP
Evolution Can-Am in the number one spot ahead
of Plante and Bank. Pelchat was trailing Gee around
the slippery blue-grooved track when suddenly
Gee’s tire lost preasure which allowed Pelchat
to gain and hold onto the lead until the checkered
flag flew. Moto two however was a different story
for Richard as he was in the 4th place slot out
of the holeshot behind Deroy, Gee, and Plante
and was forced to work his way up through traffic.
By the midway point of the second lap, Pelchat
was able to get around the Kawasaki of Deroy and
come to his final finishing position of 3rd place.

Richard Pelchat
was on the move in the first Pro moto
of the day on Saturday after Gee suffered
his flat tire which allowed Pelchat to
easily take the lead & the win, however
in the second Pro moto he was forced back
to the 3rd place position behind Gee &
Plante but his 1-3 finishes would give
him 2nd overall on the day
|
His 1-3 finishes would give him 2nd place overall
on the day and give him an addition 45 points
in the Pro class. “This track is almost
the opposite of what I personally like to race
on, it’s very smooth and slippery, where
as I like it more rough and tumble. My Can-Am
was running amazing all day and the Goldspeed
tires did their job on the slippery corners to
give me the traction I needed,” said Pelchat
after the race.
James Bank was hot on the heels of the front
runners for the entire length of both Pro motos
on Saturday in which he secured a 3-4 finish to
put him in 3rd place overall for the day and would
also give him an additional 38 points towards
the Championship as well.
