Las Vegas, NV (3/14/2016) - Sportsmanship
and family have always gone hand in hand in desert
racing. In winning their respective Pro Class UTV
races, Branden Sims and Justin Lambert showcased
those sentiments during the Polaris RZR Mint 400,
Round 3 of the Best in the Desert Championship Series.

Branden
Sims & Justin Lambert celebrated class
wins on the Polaris RZR Mint 400 Podium |
Wayne Matlock finished second in Pro Turbo Class,
ahead of Ryan Laidlaw, brothers Jason and Derek
Murry and Logan Gastel. In Pro Production Class,
Kristen Matlock was second, followed by Ben Bischoff.

ITP's
Justin Lambert & Ryan Laidlaw were the
first UTVs to start the Polaris RZR Mint
400 shortly after sunrise at Buffalo Bill's
Casino |
The Mint 400 has long been a staple of the desert
racing calendar and winning it etches the name
of the victor into history. The tough 330-mile
contest was held on the demanding course near
Buffalo Bill’s Casino and the combination of sand
whoops, washes and lakebeds is always a challenge.
Adding a unique twist to this year’s race, event
organizers held the race in the opposite direction
of year’s past.
LSR / ITP / FOX’s Branden Sims finished first
overall and took the Pro Turbo UTV victory, but
it was his actions afterward that showed truly
what desert racing is all about. Sims battled
with Lambert during the final lap of the race.
However, Lambert broke within sight of the finish
line and began pushing his car to earn the Pro
Production class win. Seeing this, Sims didn’t
hesitate and, along with his co-driver, ran to
the aid of his fellow competitor and helped him
push his car across the finish line.

LSR
/ ITP's Branden Sims charged his way into
the early lead, which he held till the checkered
flag for the Overall Win |
“After we finished, I looked back and saw him
pushing his car, so I asked a BITD official if
I could help him and he said I could,” said Sims.
“So we helped him across.”

Justin
Lambert suffered a mechanical issue within
sight of the finish line & jumped out
and started pushing. It was awesome to see
overall winner, Branden Sims & his co-driver,
Justin Krause, run over & help them
push it across the finish line for the Pro
Production Win |
