#49Q's Josh Frederick waits before sunrise for the start of the race
Can-Am/Motoworks’ Josh Frederick and Dillon Zimmerman teamed up for the Parker 250 in order to get in a little seat time before the start of the WORCS series later in the month. The team was looking good as Josh Frederick shot off the start and quickly took over the time adjusted lead, but just before the end of the first lap, a front ball joint broke on Frederick’s quad, sending him and the quad cartwheeling.

Luckily, Frederick was not seriously injured and was able to remount his DS450 and limp it back to the pits on three wheels. Unfortunately, the team was forced to call it a day. Frederick and Zimmerman were not the only team to suffer mechanical failures, as only three out of the seven pro teams were able to finish the race.

In the Side-by-Side classes, Bobby Raber’s SR1 powered Yamaha Rhino secured the overall win, but in the Production class, Jagged X’s 1932 Polaris RZR 4 of Matt Parks took the class win and second overall, while Dennis Jean put his number 1935 machine on the podium in second. Coastal Racing’s Scott Kiger and Mark Holz would claim the final spot on the podium in third.

Jagged X's Polaris RZR XP 4 900 made its racing debut with a Top 10 finish after running in top three before suffering a flat tire
The Jagged X team was looking impressive as they put their custom RZR 4 XP 900 to the test in the sport class for its racing debut. The team was running up front for a good part of the race, but suffered a flat tire that put them back. The team was still able to finish in the top ten, which was pretty impressive for their first time racing the RZR 4 XP 900.

It looks as if this could be a very exciting year in the BITD series with new racers in the pro ATV class, and plenty of competition in the Side-by-Side ranks. The SxS Racers will head to the General Tire, Mint 400 on March 23-25th for their next race, while the ATVs won’t race again till the Silver State 300 on May 4-6th where David Scott and Danny Prather will be looking for another win.
