Ballance Moto X Pro ATV Race Report Continued - Moto Two

For the start of the second Moto, Jeremiah’s wife, Jamie Jones, held the 30 second card. When she dropped the card and sprinted to the side lines, it was Joe Byrd grabbing yet another ATVriders.com Holeshot Award with his Dasa Engine powered Honda TRX450R, but this time it was Jeremy Lawson and Pat Brown hot on his heals followed by Brock Lyons.

#43 Brock Lyons capitalizes on Lawson and Brown colliding and takes over the second spot briefly before slipping back to 7th

With Byrd out front, Lawson bobbled heading through the “Six Pack” to complete the first lap, which caused Pat Brown to collide into Lawson, which brought the pair to a stop. Lawson quickly rebounded, but not before Brock Lyons took over the second spot and Lawson dropped 5 seconds behind Byrd. Brown slipped all the way back to 11th place after the collision, so he had his work cut out for him to earn a spot on the podium. Joe Byrd appeared to be on a mission as he pulled away from the rest of the pack building nearly a 15 second lead on Lawson by the checkered flag to claim yet another Moto win and extend his points lead over Jeremy Lawson to 12 points with Lawson securing the second spot.

For Pat Brown, it was an incredible charge from the back of the pack as he recorded the second fastest lap-time of the Moto as he once again found himself briefly battling with Cale Downen for third spot. By the half way point, Brown took over the third and held on to the checkered flag to secure the final Podium spot ahead of Cale Downen and John Ragon.

#36 Michael Brown & #98 John Ragon swapped positions back and forth through out the race with Ragon winning the battle and claiming the 5th Spot
#11 Shane Cochran & #99 Justin Bres battle for nearly the entire Moto with #202 Chris Tait getting into the mix as well with Cochran coming out ahead in 7th place

After the Podium presentation, it was found that Jeremy Lawson's Honda exceeded the sound level due to having to change out his specially designed headpipe, which cracked in Moto One. The replacement headpipe was a standard headpipe, which failed the sound testing, but he was not penalized and given a warning to have the issue corrected for next race.

Once Again, the Ballance Moto X facility provided an excellent venue for ATV racing, which is no surprise with an ATV racing family behind the facility. For those that attended, they were treated to a great track and some exciting racing action.
