As the checkered flag was waved, Suzuki's Chad
Wienen took his first moto win of the season.
“This was really a big weight lifted off
my shoulders,” stated Wienen, who has been
plagued by a shoulder injury for most of the season.
“I’m back to 100% and feeling really
good and now I’m trying to get back in the
swing of things,” he concluded. Honda’s
Joe Byrd crossed the line in 2nd place, followed
by Doug Gust in 3rd.

Joe Byrd grabbed the Moto 2 Holeshot over
Kawasaki's Keith Little |
When the gate dropped for moto two, it was Joe
Byrd who grabbed the holeshot, with Kawasaki’s
Keith Little in a close second and John Natalie,
Harold Goodman and Russell Shumaker all in hot
pursuit. Doug Gust got off to a mid pack start.
“I was late coming to the gate and got almost
last pick, so I didn’t get the best line
out of the hole,” said Gust.
Josh Creamer, who was hoping for a repeat holeshot
had a bit of a slow start as well. “I got
pinched out in the holeshot so I just started
picking people off,” said Josh. Creamer
made an incredible charge and by the eighth lap
found himself in 4th place.
Dustin Wimmer was also a little slow coming off
the line. “After taking the championship
in moto one, I was a little distracted out there
for moto two because it still hadn’t sunk
in yet that I got it,” said Wimmer humbly.
