Jeremy Lawson began applying the pressure to Josh
Upperman, who held onto his lead for 3 laps before
Lawson was able to get around him. “I was
feeling really confident out there today. I came
off the line in 3rd, and got around Wimmer when
he made a mistake,” said Lawson. “Then
I was right behind Upperman and once I got around
him, I started pulling away,” he concluded.
Lawson held his lead all the way to the finish line,
taking the first moto win.

Josh
Upperman held the lead for 3 laps before
being passed by both Jeremy Lawson &
Dustin Wimmer in Lap 4 |
Honda's
Joe Byrd held onto the 4th spot and remained
within striking distance of the lead pack |
Meanwhile, Pat Brown, who had come off the line
in 6th place encountered a flat tire and began
to fall back, allowing Josh Creamer to move into
6th place where he began chasing down Jasmine
Plante maintaining the 5th spot.

Dustin
Wimmer challenged Jeremy Lawson for the
lead early on, but as the race continued,
Lawson pulled away to a six second lead
over Wimmer |
Wimmer, who wasn’t about to make another
mistake, took second followed by Joe Byrd in third.
Josh Upperman, who had done so well early on the
moto had fallen back to 4th place where he held
off Josh Creamer to the end. Josh Creamer, who
made the pass on Plante in lap five to take over
5th place, was not able to get around Upperman
due to brake issues. “I hit a rock or something
and I had no rear brakes and it made things a
little sketching and I didn’t want to chance
it,” said Creamer, who had to settle for
his number five position at the finish line.
Canadian Jasmin Plante held onto the sixth spot
followed by Can-Am/ Warnert racing’s John
Natalie in 7th, who made an impressive charge
from the rear. “We had some problems with
the gate pick and I ended up next to last on the
far end,” said Natalie. “I think I
was in 16th when I came around turn two,”
he concluded. Natalie was followed by Kawasaki’s
Keith Little in 8th, while Joe Haavisto ended
moto one in 9th with Can-Am’s Richard Pelchat
rounding out the top ten.

Kawasaki's
Josh Creamer challenged Josh Upperman for
half the race for the 4th spot, but in the
end, Creamer remained in the 5th spot for
yet another Top 5 finish |
Kawasaki's
Keith Little charged his way into the top
10 and eventually finished in 8th right
behind Can-Am's John Natalie Jr making the
pass and claiming 7th place |
Pat Brown’s flat caused him to finish in
13th, while Doug Gust had mechanical issues and
DNF’d in lap nine. Fan favorite, Jason Dunkelberger
once again had some bad luck this weekend. The
clip in the crank bearing broke on both of his
engine, one on Saturday during practice and another
one in Moto One. Unfortunately Dunk’s bad
luck would continue to plague him through moto
two as well.
